Notes: 1) AP credit in English does not exempt any student from WRITING 20.

              2) History majors may count only one AP credit.

3)For students who matriculate at Duke in Fall 2007 or earlier, an AP score of 4

or 5 will yield Duke credit for STA 10.  Students who matriculate after Fall 2007

must have a score of 5 to receive credit for STA 10.

*Applies only to studentsin Trinity College.  No credit awarded for engineering students    and will not count towar dthe Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree.  Additional restrictions apply for Engineering students. Please see the page on AP credit on the Pratt School of Engineering Web site.

**Will not count toward fulfillment of the major requirements.

***Students who are sure they will major in Economics may take MATH 102 instead of MATH 103.

Pratt School of Engineering: Will count toward the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree but not as a substitute for EGR 53.

§Trinity College: PHYSICS 51 & 62 do not count toward the General Studies requirements; prospective Physics majors are strongly encouraged to take the PHYSICS 41L and 42L independent of their AP course credit.  Pratt School of Engineering: at least ONE physics course must be taken at Duke to satisfy the two course physics requirement in the engineering curriculum.  Students eligible for advanced placement credits for both PHYSICS 61 and 62 may either a) accept the placement credits for PHYSICS 61and 62, taking a Duke physics course at least at the level of PHYSICS 63 to complete the requirement; or b) decline the AP credit for either PHYSICS 61 or 62, taking the appropriate Duke course instead.

No placement or elective credit can be considered until your official score has been received by the Office of the Registrar, Box 90054, Durham, NC 27708.
